How fast should you respond to a ales enquiry?

I am a stickler for getting service when I request it.

I am also a stickler for answering sales enquiries as quickly as I receive them.  After all if someone is asking to spend money and they want to know how much it will cost, half the sales process is already done!

I had an amazingly stupid non sales experience with another company just then.

I requested a quote for the IP PBX I was interested in four weeks ago.

Granted it has been Christmas and New Years in between, but I sent the email weeks before everyone went on their Christmas break.

I just had a sales rep call me to give me the price FOUR WEEKS LATE!

Sheesh talk about bad sales processes!
